Youth Must Be Aware to Prevent Foeticide

Aligarh. To check female foeticide, it is necessary for the youth to become aware. To make the youth aware, this observation came forth at a two-day workshop organised on the topic female foeticide and birth-death registration at Ghanghauli village of Tappal village.

Shiksha Vikas Sabha secretary Girdhari Lal said that sex ratio in Tappal block was 840 per 1,000 people and this cannot be justified. This programme is being conducted in 12 districts of the State with support from Vatsalya and Plan International.

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr SK Jain said though we give respect to girls by girls worship, deity worship and in the beginning of all auspicious occasions, we commit sin by killing them in the womb.

Dr Lochan Singh Chauhan, former District Health Education Information Officer, conducted the workshop.
